Shipping and Receiving Associate
Ontario, CA
M-F 8am-4:30pmÂ
Pay range: $18 – $21 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods in and out of the facility. This includes handling all shipping duties and overseeing the accurate and timely receipt of incoming materials, products, and supplies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a team-oriented environment where flexibility and initiative are valued.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping Responsibilities:
• Pick items from inventory to fulfill customer orders, ensuring order accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Package products for shipping by selecting appropriate materials and applying labels with accurate destination and tracking information
• Generate shipping labels and documents using ERP or manual systems, following customer instructions and preferred carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, or others.
• Schedule pickups and communicate shipment status with carriers and internal teams.
• Palletize, label, and wrap outgoing shipments as needed.
• Verify outgoing shipments match the packing slips and order details.
• Obtain weights and dimensions for freight quotes when needed.
• Assist with end-of-day shipping tasks and reporting.
Receiving Responsibilities:
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Verify received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Enter received goods into inventory management systems.
• Coordinate with purchasing and production teams to resolve any discrepancies.
• Stock received items in appropriate storage locations.
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
General Responsibilities:
• Support daily operations with data entry and documentation.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by performing routine cycle counts using inventory management systems and by ensuring goods are properly stored
• Communicate shipping or receiving delays with operations and customer service.
• Follow company safety and quality standards at all times.
• Participate in team meetings and suggest process improvements.
• Help maintain supplies and a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as needed in support of team success.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with shipping software (USPS, UPS, FedEx) and basic inventory systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using online portals
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic, team-based environment
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality and customer satisfaction • Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently
• Regular standing, walking, and use of stairs
• Manual dexterity and ability to operate warehouse equipment as needed
• Work Environment: Working in a manufacturing warehouse, which may include exposure to various environmental conditions such as noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
