JOB DIMENSIONS:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, repairs and maintains facility, machinery, and equipment; performs other related duties as assigned.
Reports to:
Maintenance Lead and/or Maintenance Supervisor
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance on facility, machinery, and equipment, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, saws, dust collectors, blast booths, and pneumatic equipment, and other related duties as assigned.
- Assists “A” and “B” level Maintenance Mechanics and Welders, as needed;
- Operated forklift, scissor lift, and bobcat loader, as needed;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and
effective operations;
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
Considerable experience, training, and/or education in the repair and maintenance of industrial machinery and facility; basic knowledge of working with electricity.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques used in repairing and maintaining production machinery;
- Ability to clean, lubricate, and protect production equipment;
- Considerable knowledge of tools and materials necessary for repair and maintenance of industrial machinery;
- Ability to operate hand and power tools;
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, scissor lift and bobcat loader;
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures;
- Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures;
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions; and
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance and repair specifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, and carry tools and materials weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted;
- Lifting, moving, or carrying tools and materials weighing over 25 pounds requires assistance by a co-worker or lifting equipment;
Special Requirements:
- Company certification in the operation of a forklift;
- Safety shoes required; and
- Soft-sole shoes required if/when working on roof.
