The Construction Manager oversees the installation of complex Material Handling Systems in our Clients’ facilities. Construction Manager responsible for the everyday management of the job Construction, meeting with the Client, and acting as a liaison between the Client, the Project Manager(s), and internal CLE teams.


This position will also be responsible for proactively looking for safety issues at job sites and immediately addressing these issues as needed; documenting the issues accurately within a Daily Status Report (DSR) and reviewing the same at the weekly tool box meeting; implementing a system for tracking safety violations; and actively working to prevent further occurrences.


The everyday management of the job site will include ensuring client satisfaction, coordinating subcontractors, providing Daily Status Reports (DSR), maintaining a safe work environment and troubleshoot any issues with the installation of conveyors, packaging and processing equipment, and ancillary functions.


  • Reviewing and updating the project schedule with all the various contractors; overseeing a planned daily review meeting with contractors at the beginning of each shift; discussing and documenting within the DSR any changes as they occur related to schedule.
  • Reading Functional Specifications Document (FSD) and reviewing questions with Project Manager prior to start of install; reviewing Request for Quote (RFQ's) with installers prior to arriving at Construction; reviewing physical installation daily and reviewing issues with contractors immediately; communicating any concerns with Project Manager; and documenting issues within the DSR consistently.
  • Inventorying equipment when received against the pack list or bill of materials (BOM); identifying discrepancies and working to resolve them; and documenting any discrepancies immediately with Purchasing and the Project Manager and including items of note within the DSR.
  • Participation in meetings and communications, both verbally and via email with the Client; documentation of Client issues formally including the Project Manager and all involved CLE departments.
  • Issuing daily status reports that are complete with the appropriate detail to address concerns including a detailed daily summary; having knowledge of all contractor information and inventory received; and referencing specific issues to the necessary team members and noting these in detail within the DSR.
  • Recognizing issues before they become major complications and identifying root causes; immediately working with the appropriate team members to ensure resolution; accepting ownership of the issue and thoroughly documenting the issue with the Operations Management Team.
  • Maintaining a thoroughly clean and organized job Construction; assigning tools and equipment to assigned locations; ensuring floors are swept; and promptly removing debris from the building.

Experience and Skills:


  • 5+ Years Construction Management experience


  • MS-Project power user


  • Mechanical skills related to conveyor installations – proficiency at reading mechanical installation drawings and pneumatic schematics/pneumatic installation drawings


  • Electrical skills related to conveyor installations – proficiency at reading electrical installation drawings/schematics/power distribution one-line diagrams a plus


  • Controls troubleshooting and/or Programmable Logic controller (PLC) and panel diagnostics a plus.
  • Proficiency at reading installation drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ability to remain calm during unexpected issues that arise and develop effective solutions
  • Experience managing and coordinating subcontractors
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with positive attitude & team player
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Travel – 40-80% (Typical travel – 11 days onsite and 3 days home depending on project location. Construction Manager typically starts the travel as the project starts then travel ends once project goes live/onsite client support/work with operations team and  help train client’s operators.
