 I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

Under the direction of the Polishing Supervisor duties include, but are not limited too, inspects, relieves, colors, belts, copper-polish, satin, polish, copper-colors, and sandblast material using polishing, small buffing, and sandblasting machines.  Repairs components using the belt sander.  Cleans and repairs components in the polishing area.  Polish materials, workpieces, or finished products.  Smooth metal surfaces or edges.  Keeps work area in good housekeeping condition.  Adheres to all safety practices, inspection logs, housekeeping, and utilization of protective equipment.  Polisher Level I is a new hire or an entry-level polisher.

 

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·    Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.

·    Remove completed workpieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place workpieces in containers.

·    Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.

· Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, cold, and heat
