YOUR ROLE
As an accountant, you’ll help maintain and record a complete and systematic set of business transactions, balance ledgers, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports to showcase receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and payable.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Debits, Credits, and Journal Entries: Post debits and credits accurately and efficiently. Prepare and review journal entries to ensure proper financial reporting.
- Reconciliation and Analysis: Reconcile and analyze general ledger (G/L) accounts and schedules monthly. Prepare adjusting entries as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of month-end, year-end accruals, and quarterly reporting. Contribute to the timely and accurate month-end G/L close for multiple entities.
- Audit Support: Assist the Finance Team during year-end financial audits and other audits (e.g., insurance, sales tax, union).
- Process Improvement: Contribute to reviewing and enhancing accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Special Projects: Perform other duties and contribute to special projects as needed to support the Finance Team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Ideally, 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and journal entries is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) and adept at learning new software programs (e.g., Crystal Reports, Vista by Viewpoint).
- Ability to work on-site at our Santa Ana office; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Eligibility to work in the United States, and work full-time (Monday-Friday) with overtime as necessary.
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista software and Crystal Reports.
- Advanced Excel skills or expertise.
- A degree is a plus but not essential.
