SUMMARY: 
The Candidate works directly with the Vice President of Engineering and Product Management to meet cost targets on new products and improve costs on current products. Analyzes Bill of Materials and interfaces with Engineering, Purchasing/Material Management, Quality, Accounting, external vendors and distributors to optimize cost.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
– Actively keeps track of cost improvements/savings and provides monthly reports and annual cost summaries.

– Interacts with Quality on DMRs, RMAs and other Cost of Quality related issues.

– Works with Engineering and Purchasing to identify critical vendors in the supply chain. Shows ability to search and identify potential second sources globally.

– Possesses the technical knowledge to understand electrical component datasheets and determine alternate parts as needed. Manages actions on end-of-life and product change notices from vendors/distributors.

– Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, finance, design, and plant operations to develop cost models, estimates, targets, make/buy and ad hoc analyses as required.

– Ability to interact closely with electrical design engineering, software engineers, mechanical engineers, and related procurement buyers.
