Job Title: Grinder

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grinder to join our manufacturing team. The Grinder will be responsible for operating grinding machines to shape, smooth, and finish metal or other materials according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of grinding techniques.
Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Operate various types of grinding machines, including surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and bench grinders, to achieve desired dimensions and finishes on metal or other materials.
• Setup and Calibration: Set up and adjust grinding machines, including selecting and installing grinding wheels, adjusting machine settings, and securing workpieces.
• Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect and measure workpieces before, during, and after the grinding process to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances. Use tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and any issues encountered during the grinding process. Document any adjustments or modifications made.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and address any grinding issues or defects, such as uneven surfaces or incorrect dimensions. Make necessary adjustments to ensure high-quality output.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate tasks and meet production goals. Communicate effectively regarding project requirements and any changes.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a Grinder or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and setting up various grinding machines. Knowledge of grinding techniques and materials is essential.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work and achieving precise measurements.
• Problem-Solving: Effective troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal machine performance.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform manual tasks as required. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification related to grinding or machining is a plus.

Additional Information:

• Work Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
• Compensation: $19.00 – $20.00
