Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Waterjet Operator to join our team. The Waterjet Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining water jet cutting machines to precisely cut a variety of materials according to specifications. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate waterjet cutting machines to cut materials such as metal, stone, glass, and composites based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate water jet machines, including adjusting parameters, installing and aligning cutting heads, and loading materials.
- Quality Control: Monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products. Inspect and measure cut materials to verify they meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on water jet machines. Clean and inspect equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any safety hazards or incidents.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine usage, maintenance activities, and production output. Document any issues or discrepancies and report them to supervisors.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions, cutting issues, or other operational problems promptly and efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate cutting tasks and meet production goals. Communicate effectively to address any project requirements or changes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a OMAX Waterjet Operator or similar role in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and maintaining Omax waterjet cutting machines. Familiarity with CNC programming and G-code is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of materials, cutting techniques, and machine mechanics. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work and maintaining precision.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues independently.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification related to machine operation is a plus.
Additional Information:
- Work Hours:Â 7:30 am – 4:00 pm; Monday – Friday
- Compensation: $23 – $28 DOE
