Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Tube bending manufacturing equipment, including start up and shut down processes per Company procedures
- Programs tube bender as needed
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repair bending and supporting equipment with service technicians
- Performs bender maintenance per Company procedures
- Bends tubing of various compositions and thicknesses that meets or exceed Company’s Quality Standards, including but not limited to accuracy of parts 10 parts per 1000 of acceptance rate
- Supports fellow bending personnel with trouble shooting and bending techniques.
- Uses Advanced Tubular V-Tube Software to measure and make corrections to tube bender programs
- Produces a 1st Piece for each production order that is free from defects and meets specifications, then requests approval from Company’s Quality Control before running parts for full production
- Consistently logs in and out of ERP software to record start and finish of each job/order with a minimum of 80% accuracy; measured by ERP’s Employee Efficiency Report
- Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets; places in appropriate receptacle as needed.
- Participates and supports 5S organizational improvement efforts
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Skills
- Tube bender set up operator skills for 1D, 2D, and 3D tube bending on wall thickness of 0.035” and thicker and various materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, inconel, and titanium
- BLM equipment-specific skills: VGP Programming, VGP Points Table modifications, Tool set up and Calibration within production standards
- Multi stack set ups for draw bending and variable radius forming
- Wiper set up in 60 minute or less, per tool set
- End to end and rotational tolerance of /-0.045 on length and 1 degree on rotational tolerance for laser cut tube
- Proven demonstration of aerospace standards of quality, shape, profile, cleanliness, surface finish, and written documentation expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years related experience or equivalent on tube benders
- Familiarity with warehouse practices
- Able to accurately read tape measures to 1/16”
- Able to accurately read calipers to 0.001”
- Able to read part specifications and shop drawings
- Demonstrates knowledge of the different tube lubricants and their applications
