Description of Project Manager Role:
 

• Assist the Lead Project Manager with and/or lead the design of buildings in various markets, such as hospitals, commercial, government and education. Projects types include Design-Build & Design-Bid-Build.
• Occasionally act as Lead on projects and lead other design professionals in the design effort
• Attend meeting as required with other design professionals and owners.
• Team with engineers and drafters to complete the project’s given scope and budget while remaining on schedule
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects in producing construction documents
• Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, specifications, reports, and construction drawings
• Perform construction administration tasks as contracts require, including coordinating with construction professionals, reviewing shop drawings, visiting sites, and answering RFI’s
• Design structures with a variety of common and uncommon building materials.
• Prepare proposals for new projects
• Review the designs and calculations of other engineers
• Provide guidance and/or mentorship to less-experienced engineers
• Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed for current or future work
• Work under supervision of a senior-level team member

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of work experience in structural engineering
• Civil engineering degree with an emphasis in structural design, master’s degree a plus
• PE or SE required; SE preferred
• Competency in engineering design software, use of BIM drafting a plus
• Strong structural engineering experience in concrete, steel, wood, and masonry a plus
• Excellent communication and writing skills
